Metallica Epoxy FAQs
Where are metallic epoxy floors best used?
Ideal for man caves, salons, showrooms, restaurants, and finished basements
How do I clean a metallic epoxy floor?
Simple sweeping and a pH-neutral cleaner is all it takes to maintain the brilliant shine
Are metallic epoxy floors slippery because of the high-gloss finish?
While metallic epoxy floors look like smooth, wet glass, they actually provide good traction when kept clean and dry. However, for environments where spills are common—like retail spaces, salons, or garages—we highly recommend mixing a clear, micro-aggregate anti-slip additive into the final topcoat to ensure maximum safety without dulling the 3D effect.
How long does it take to install a metallic epoxy floor?
A flawless metallic system typically takes 3 to 4 days to complete. This involves diamond-grinding the concrete, applying a tinted moisture-blocking primer, pouring and manipulating the metallic color coat, and finally, sealing it with a highly durable clear topcoat (like urethane or polyaspartic) to protect the design.
Can I choose custom colors for my metallic floor?
Yes! The design possibilities are virtually endless. We can blend multiple metallic pigments to mimic the look of natural marble, flowing water, copper, or silver. We can even match specific branding colors for commercial spaces or your favorite sports team’s colors for a custom residential man-cave
Will a metallic epoxy floor scratch easily?
The metallic color layer is deeply protected by a commercial-grade clear topcoat that is highly resistant to abrasions, chemicals, and hot-tire pickup. While it is incredibly durable against everyday foot and vehicle traffic, it is not completely scratch-proof. We recommend using felt pads under heavy furniture and avoiding dragging sharp, heavy metal objects across the surface to maintain its brilliant shine.
